If your scout is attending Cardinal District Day Camp, you'll need to complete the BSA Form Parts A & B for BOTH your child and yourself, in addition to taking a volunteer training quiz prior to the camp. (The quiz will be on the attached 2016 Parent Day Camp Training PDF. This training manual and the online quiz are also located at the bottom of the registration page for Cardinal Day Camp--see link below.)
Due to other groups using the YMCA pool on January 27th, we will be shifting our Pack swim event to January 26 from 5-7pm.
Our Pack meeting is scheduled for swimming at the Goochland YMCA. All Scouts will have the opportunity to work on swimming skills during this event. Parent help will be needed in the pool and on the pool deck.
If you have not yet signed up for the 4th annual "Camp Expo" that is scheduled for this Saturday, September 26th, you still have time to register your family so see the sign-up genius below! Enjoy camp and activities, including demonstrations by the Boy Scout Troop & Venturers) on cooking, fires, camping gear, pioneering/orienteering and more! Of course, we’ll also have a campfire, treats and fun! We’ll be open to the public from 12 noon to 5 pm on Saturday so we can share what Scouting is all about and what the Scout camping experience looks like, both for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. It’s also a great opportunity for those of us newer to Scouting to learn more about how Cub Scout camping trips work, what gear you need to bring, what will be provided by the pack and how much fun you’ll have. We’d love to have your help! Please sign up to help set up or staff the Cub Scouts area on Saturday, September 26th (setup is 10 am-12 noon; we’re open to the public from 12 pm - 5 pm). If you like, you can also stay and camp out Saturday night with the Boy Scouts!
This year's 'Camping is In Tents' t-shirts are a big hit! We have had several requests for additional shirts and are glad to say we'll be able to place another order.
